He-man and Skeletor Action Figure Commercial (2002)

Mattel decided to introduce He-Man and the Masters of the Universe to a new generation. The toy line made its debut in 1981. Then in 2002 new figures were produced. At the time the franchise was 21 years old. The commercial shows newly designed He-Man and Skeletor action figures. Panthor and Battle Cat are also included in the commercial. A rebooted series would air on Cartoon Network as well between 2002 to 2003. Just like the original 1983 series, it followed He-Man’s quest to stop Skeletor from taking over Eternia. The animation was produced by Mike Young Productions. Filmation animated the 1983 series , but went out business in 1989. Filmation was reliant on limited animation. Mike Young Productions had more resources to make a show with more detailed animation. Part of the intro can be seen in the commercial. The reason the franchise remains long lasting is due to its creativity and characters. The toy line and animated series built up a significant fan base. Children and toy collectors kept He-Man and The Masters of The Universe a recognizable part of popular culture. Mattel continues to produce more He-Man and the Masters of the Universe action figures.
